I'm in London this week at Online Information 2009 which showcases European business media.
My first lesson in speaking the language taught me one very surprising fact.
European business contact databases don't exist.
Nada, nichts, de rien.
Now, there are some differences in the legal issues between some European countries. For instance, the UK and a handful of other countries amended business email communication to an opt-out policy in 2003.
But in some European countries even an unsolicited phone call is verboten.
As business communication and conversations expand into social media expand, will I be able to respond to a French tweet if I see one? Or will I have to have an existing business relationship with the person before I can reply?
Thanks to the internet, business knows few international boundaries. Me and my team at NetProspex believe that in business, it's good practice to be found and this international concept that will overcome all barriers.
I'd love to hear your thoughts, s'il vous plaƮt.
